CGI Golf Club Fundraising Guide
Club fundraising has become an important activity for clubs as they seek to improve facilities and cover running costs. The Golf Club Fundraising guide was created by the CGI to help clubs determine if they would like to run their own events in the future. It also provides best practice advice and showcases a number of successful fundraisers held by clubs across the country which are split into four key areas:
- Fundraising Idea
- Club Fundraising Status
- Effort Level
- Money Raised

Sports Capital Funding (ROI)
Since its introduction in 1998 the Sports Capital Funding scheme has awarded almost €1bn in grants to over 10,000 projects.
CGI Club Support Staff can support your clubs application for the Sports Capital Grant by way of guidance and sharing information from successful club applicants. 72 Golf Clubs in Ireland benefited from nearly 2.5m Sport Capital Grants in 2017 for a broad range of equipment and capital projects including mowers, practice facilities, junior golf academies, drainage works and general course improvements.
The first tranche of 2018 Sports Capital Grant was announced last May and 38 golf clubs were granted over 2m for equipment. The second and larger tranche for capital projects is expected to be announced before the end of the year. No details are available yet on the 2019 Sports Capital Grant application process but further details will be made available by CGI once they are released.
Further useful information on the funding and application process is available in the Downloads section below.
